Holiday Table Settings!

Holiday Season is upon us and that means time to set your dining table! But don’t let holiday decorating be intimidating. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box and use what you have. You don’t have to have fancy china or complete sets of anything, some of our favorite holiday table settings have been with mix matched plates and glasses. Whether you have a small apartment size table or a long table fit for a king we’ve got the tips you need to create the perfect holiday table setting.
Here are photos of our favorite holiday dining table settings for this year and wait till you see how we have thought outside the box!!!

Farm House Fall- If vibrant oranges and browns are your fall colors of choice, then this farm house table setting is for you.
Orange serape stripes paired with the natural elements of the woven placemats, pumpkins and succulents give this farm house table a little non-traditional twist to fall decorating.  We loved this serape striped fabric and thought the colors were a perfect match for our pumpkins and gourds, but we only had napkins, pillows and a bed runner. So, we improvised… folding the bed runner to the width we needed and turning it into a table runner. For the centerpiece we used a bird house made of reclaimed wood and a small floral arrangement offset with bright green succulents.
Don’t forget about decorating the buffet, side table and walls of your dining room. Visually these spaces can have even more impact on your dining room than your table. Our favorite part of this setting is the oversized dough bowl on the buffet filled with pumpkins and succulents. The candlesticks add in color, height, and texture while providing the perfect framework for our wall art.

The Western Fall Table Setting- Our inspiration for this setting came from the table itself. With its carved legs and heavy, reclaimed wood this table needed a wow factor! For the centerpiece we chose a set of large turquoise vases paired with a dough bowl floral arrangement. Due to the size of the table the small white calf hide got lost under the vases so we went searching for something to add color to the center of our table. When we couldn’t find the right table runner we decided to get creative and found the color we needed in a set of pillow covers! With the inserts removed and the zippers hidden under the calf hide, these pillow covers were just the color and texture we needed.
Serape napkins in brown, turquoise and orange are a perfect pair with the oversized rust/orange napkin rings to give a little touch of traditional fall color to our table. The metal chargers could be paired with cream, white, turquoise or brown dinnerware to complete the look. Don’t have enough chargers? Then alternate place settings with the amount you do have. We even added turquoise napkins to the chargers to give them an extra pop of color. Just remember it’s ok to mix and match, just alternate your patterns or colors to give uniformity to the table.

The Christmas Table- Did someone say Christmas?! Christmas is coming and it’s never too early to start thinking about your Christmas table decorations.
Our brown and red serape placemats are perfect for any Christmas table setting, western or not! We went a little western and were able to re-use some of our fall table items to create our Christmas settings (why buy for every season when you can use items you already have!). Our floral centerpiece is the one we used in our Western Fall table setting, the colors in this arrangement give us the flexibility to use it with red, green, turquoise and brown.  We’ve seen this arrangement used on fireplace mantels, dining tables, kitchen islands, dressers and even the back of a toilet.  We also re-used our natural woven placemats from our fall farm house table, layering them with dark chargers and tomato red napkins. Getting creative, we improvised on our napkin rings and made our own with jute twine evergreen pieces and pine cones. We had napkin rings but we used them as our place card holders! Embellished with berries and greenery they were just what we needed to complete each place setting.  But no table setting is complete at the Blue-Eyed Buffalo until we add a little cowhide! These side chairs with brindle cowhide yolks added the perfect touch.
