Turning Nothing Into Something!

Are you in limbo from decluttering from the holidays, taxes and the new year? We are too so let the spring cleaning begin!
We are ready for fresh, bright colors, and SUNSHINE and we want our decorating to show it. We are tucking away those heavy spreads and extra blankets and freshening up with lighter linens, throws and pillows to let the light shine into our homes.
Our blogs typically incorporate items that serve multiple purposes – and we call that turning nothing into something! But simply known as using items for something other than what they were intended for.

Like this trunk coffee table – we have turned it into extra storage for a guest bedroom. It’s a wonderful place to hide extra blankets and linens but serves as a seat or place for visitors to put their luggage.

Or what about this reclaimed wood shelf. Before it served as an ordinary book shelf. But after a few hooks and baskets were added we now have a decorative drink center perfect for any wine or coffee bar!

Check out the uses for these wooden bowls. Not only are they decorative but extremely functional. We took a longer, flat bowl and used it for pretty place to keep desk items like paper clips, rubber bands, pens, and even coins. We also used a taller deeper bowl to store hand towels and wash cloths for this bathroom vanity. It was a perfect way to add color and texture to a plain otherwise boring countertop.

Simply changing out ordinary towel rings with an antler towel hook can give a bathroom a customized look. By the way this hook was intended for display purposes only but we saw the potential of what it could be!

Use a kitchen hutch to display cookbooks, stemware, and even colorful napkins. Its ok to “display” items you use every day. Like glassware, utensils, cutting boards, etc.
We hope that our blogs are useful and informative as well as inspirational. We would love to hear from you if you have used one of our ideas for your own inspiration. Leave us a comment below or share you photos on Facebook or Instagram and tag us in your post.
We have so many thoughts and ideas we want to share with you so our next blog will be the first of a six part series. This series will take you through an entire house room by room to discuss everything from decorating and cleaning tips, to paint and color schemes, to furniture and rug placements and much more. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram (or Both!) to ensure that you see our blogs as soon as they come out.

Thanks for following the Blue-Eyed Buffalo!

If you have more physical attributes on your list, there is a good chance that you are not actually in love with this person and instead are lusting after him/her.

Pinpointing the qualities about this person that you like will help you to determine if what you are feeling is truly love or simply infatuation or lust.
